The doctoral research project 'Connecting the Dots' started in September 2021. This research project is situated and takes shape within a number of artistic projects that serve as experiments in which practice-oriented research activities takes place. In these projects / experiments, artists are confronted with a variety of situations and frameworks, methods and processes, which on the one hand require an adaptation of one's own, 'traditional' process, but on the other hand also give rise to the development of a new discourse with certain (implicit) meanings, shaped by artistic actions. The research  question investigated in all projects by a number of performative and qualitative research methods is the following:

What model(s) of musical praxis, that reconcile traditional performative practice and métier with contemporary requirements, can be designed by exploring processes of 'participatory sensemaking' in non-traditional artistic creations?"

All projects and their activities have been extensively documented. On this website, both the 'product' and the 'process'  can be found.
